Vinyl Villains, established in 1983, is one of a small number of surviving old-school record shops.
A combination of factors, including economic conditions and the increasing reliance on the internet for shopping, has killed off two-thirds of our independent record retailers.
I tend to hope that the main reason for the continued survival of Vinyl Villains (although there have been a few close shaves!) is that there are still a huge number of like-minded people out there, with a discerning taste in music, who refuse to be brainwashed into accepting the regurgitated gunge that passes for culture today.
